Do you want to foray into the world of a Master of Ceremonies (MC or emcee) becoming the heartbeat of an event, responsible for guiding the audience, managing the energy, and ensuring a schedule flows seamlessly?
In Toastmasters, we’ve already have skills that can accelerate our growth in becoming a MC. David will take us through an interactive, fast-paced and practical workshop. We’ll further our skills to become an effective MC with some simple exercises, preparation and reflection.

Bio:
David Mathieson is a high-level leader & educational achiever within Toastmasters International, primarily based in Germany.
Serving as Area Governor and also District Secretary for District 95 earned him his first DTM. As a member of the D95 District Executive Committee, he was responsible for administrative oversight of > 170 clubs in 10 countries in Europe.
His experiences in Toastmasters have taken him in a different direction in from his wife Morag who was Toastmasters International President (2023-2024). Professionally, he qualified as a diploma engineer in electronic & electrical engineering. A native Scotsman, David began his career in medical x-ray engineering.
Currently, he and his wife live in Germany, where he is global sales manager for a leading medical imaging company. This presents many public speaking opportunities to customer bases all over the world from C-level business meetings to international conferences.
Toastmasters has given him the confidence and opportunities to speak in > 80 countries globally to date…as well as visiting many Toastmasters clubs during the journey.
A global sales meeting opened the door for his first opportunity of many as a Master of Ceremony (MC) on the corporate international stage. His proudest MC achievement has been hosting a live webinar held over 3 days for a global audience of several thousand people during COVID.
Aside from Toastmasters, his other hobbies include kayaking and DIY.
